CPR | Resuscitation

If your child stopped breathing, would you know what to do?

‘CPR Training for Parents’ is a free online program developed in partnership with clinicians from the Sydney Children's Hospitals Network to teach the steps involved in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for a baby (aged less than 12 months) or a child (aged over one year). The steps can also be used on an adult.

The content is taken directly from the Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines. The DRS ABCD approach for an unresponsive baby and child used in this program is an international approach designed to help people remember the steps involved in responding to a collapsed person.

The program takes approximately 1.5 hours to complete and can be done over multiple sessions. We recommend completing each module from start to finish, as your progress is not recorded. No log-in is required to access the program.

The knowledge and skills you learn may SAVE a LIFE. Remember, ANY attempt at CPR is better than no attempt.

You can begin the program by clicking on any of the modules shown below. In addition to the CPR modules, the program presents information on helping a baby or child who is choking or needing first aid for a burn injury.

We recommend you complete the modules in the order they are listed. The background information provided in one module will help you understand the next. Some important content is also reinforced throughout the modules and will be of benefit to your learning.
